We are thrilled to report that the Kathrine G. McGovern Texas Wetlands and Cypress Circle Café at the Houston Zoo received the 2021 Top Honors for Excellence in Exhibit Design from the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. Main Street provided interpretive planning and design for this project, which sets a new standard for adaptive reuse, converting a stagnant duck pond into a working wetland and a vibrant habitat for iconic Texas wildlife species. Congratulations to Lee Ehmke and his fabulous team at the Zoo, and to our wonderful partners at SHR Studios (habitat design), Lake|Flato Architects (architecture), and Sparq1200 (interpretive fabrication). Visit the AZA website to learn more about this year's winners.
