Main Street Design, in partnership with Hands On! Studio, has been selected to create a groundbreaking new permanent experience at Science North in Sudbury, Ontario. THINK, an acronym for Tinker, Hack, Innovate, Network and Know, will be a guided interactive maker space where people of all levels of experience can explore, invent and create using authentic tools, materials and processes.
Visitors will be inspired and enabled to innovate, working individually or in collaboration, building skills and completing meaningful projects using digital fabrication, coding, engineering and electronics as well as a range of more traditional tools – all while advancing science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) learning goals. As with all of our projects for Science North, the institution is not merely our client but a full team member providing content leadership and multimedia and audiovisual program development. This is our fifth major project for Canada’s second largest science centre.
